The Standing Committee of Beijing Municipal People’s Congress
The Standing Committee of Beijing Municipal People’s Congress (BMPC) is the permanent body of the BMPC; it is responsible to and reports to the BMPC on its work. The Standing Committee of BMPC is composed of Chairman, Vice Chairmen, Secretary-General and other members. They are all elected by the BMPC from among its deputies for the same term as BMPC. None on the Standing Committee of BMPC shall hold office in any of the administrative, judicial or procuratorial organs of the state. The Standing Committee of BMPC meets at least once every two month and the meetings are convened by the Chairman. A simple majority of all Standing Committee members is required to pass the decisions made by the Standing Committee of BMPC.
